Our Story 

Woodland Anesthesiology Associates, PC (WAA) was formed in December 1975 with eleven anesthesiologists, fifteen certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs) and four support staff. In 1995, WAA opened The Pain Management Center at Saint Francis Hospital, a private office focused on the management of patients with chronic pain. An October 1996 merger with Anesthesia Associates—a practice affiliated with Mount Sinai Hospital—resulted in the addition of thirteen additional employees to WAA.

Today, WAA employs more than 200 professionals—including anesthesiologists, CRNAs and support staff—at multiple locations throughout the greater Hartford, CT Waterbury, CT and Springfield, MA areas. While initially the sole provider of anesthesia and pain management services at Saint Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford, WAA has expanded its anesthesiology services to three additional hospitals and seven surgery centers and its Pain Management Center to six offices and multiple hospital and surgical center locations.
